camille l Le plus surprenant dans Fast Food Nation est la propension de Richard Linklater à exprimer un sentiment de colère intense envers son sujet (l'industrie du fast food aux USA) et de la faire ressentir sans pour autant livrer un film extrêmement offensif. En effet, on retrouve ici le calme et la douceur de la mise en scène de ses films précédents, un peu à l'image de son approche du film d'action avec The Newton Boys. 3 histoires s'entremêlent avec virtuosité, aussi fortes les unes que les autres avec quelques moments de bravoure comme le final dans l'abattoir ou l'apparition d'un Bruce Willis qui n'a jamais été aussi inquiétant. Parfois, le manque de pugnacité peut sembler être un renoncement et fait perdre un peu de force à quelques séquences mais dans l'ensemble, l'angle choisi par Linklater fait de Fast Food Nation un film extrêmement intéressant. However, this is still such a majorly chaotic movie that only barely resembles a feature fiction film having in mind that its editing is horrible, its overall structure is an utter mess, and some of its sections piled on tragedy so much that the result reminded me unpleasantly of the much maligned Crash.
