Adrien C Very paper thin, but at least it seems like Ving Rhames had some fun with his role. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/24 Full Review William D One of the worst movies I have ever seen and has ever been made. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review andrew y Rarely is a film so bad - that it actually merits a review on that basis, but this is such a movie. It has absolutely NO redeeming features. The ‘actors' mumble their way through this inane piece of dross, as if they themselves couldn't be bothered - but at least they were paid, which I wasn't! Two hours of my life which, sadly, I won't get back……… Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member SHITE! Worst film I've seen in a long while and seagal Jesus he's bigger than Christmas ridiculous! And the scorpion scene worst part of it! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I've never been a fan of Steven Segal, but I admit I've enjoyed some of his movies. Whether they're smart or just vehicles for physical action - sometimes I'm just in the mood for one. This might have been a good action vehicle. It has star power beyond Segal, and lots of action. Unfortunately, the process of translating a story to the screen failed badly here. The scenes feel disjointed, as if strung together on the cutting room floor. Characters are introduced faster than you can keep track of. It only took half an hour before I found myself wondering why people were doing what they were doing, and what the hell (in general) was going on. Segal is obviously older now, but to his credit, he moves impressively: fast and almost effortlessly. However, he's actually difficult to understand; his words slur from time to time, and while this may in part be due to the affected accent, it feels as if it might be the result of getting punched in the hit too often. It also might have something to do with the production values. They're not awful, but the film feels much more stylish than substance-rich. Wildly diverse music, intended to represent a clash of urban cultures, feels forced and overdone, and adds a bit to the confusing aural scenery. Even Rhames and Trejo are occasionally mumbling and growling their way through a script meant to project attitude rather than ideas. For the record, I'm watching this with decent headphones on, and I'm STILL confused as to what people are saying. I gave this 1.5 stars because I want to see how this ends, and it kept me occupied for a while. I would NOT recommend it, but I've definitely seen worse, and have been less-entertained, too.
