What to Know

Critics Consensus

Heist stacks its deck with an all-star cast but this humorless action potboiler doesn't give them a good hand to play.

Chris Nashawaty Entertainment Weekly The heist in Heist is pretty pedestrian, and the film turns into Die Hard-on-a-bus with a couple of so-so twists and serviceable spasms of action. If that's what you're looking for, rent Speed instead. Rated: C Nov 17, 2015 Full Review Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail Everything is dully routine, with characters much too composed in volatile situations to be believed. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 13, 2015 Full Review Kyle Smith New York Post As throwbacks go, it's more bearable than shoulder pads. Rated: 2/4 Nov 13, 2015 Full Review Reagan Gavin Rasquinha The Times of India Working in this film's favor is the aforementioned brisk pace and the taut editing. It somehow adds to the sense of desperation and urgency that the lead pair feels. Overall, a passable action potboiler. Rated: 3/5 Nov 7, 2017 Full Review Marija Djurovic Cairo360 It's yet another disappointing turn from the Oscar-winning actor, Robert De Niro - it's becoming difficult to believe that this is the same actor who played Jake La Motta in Raging Bull or Vito Corleone in The Godfather. Rated: 2/5 Apr 1, 2016 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue ... more tedious than exciting as it leads to a preposterous climax. Dec 31, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Michael M This movie obviously has terrible reviews but I found it very entertaining. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review alan g Waste of time and talent, such as it is. Deniro can't act anymore. Should be retired. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/24/24 Full Review John G The only real thing this film has, is actors. I have a problem with movies that START with a totally implausible premise. (Spoiler!) The whole basis revolves around the main character NEEDING money, because "the hospital won't save his little girls life...UNLESS HE PAYS UPFRONT!" Now...I know our Healthcare System is absolutely horrible...but COME ON!! Yeah...hospitals kick out dying children ALL THE TIME!! Laughable from the start! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/30/23 Full Review Giorgio G It's odd that only now I got to see this 2015 flick. I guess we must have been traveling when it appeared in the cinemas. Well, what can I say?! Having Robert de Niro appear in a few scenes does not elevate this movie into higher realms, but with a cast of normally violent flick actors this is also not really a B-Movie. It hangs somewhere in between, and as such it's quite well made with a decent script, copying certain scenes from other movies of this genre, but still retaining some originality. Though only slightly tense, it is still rather entertaining. 5 1/2 of 10 points Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Jelisije J Half this movie was about a casino heist gone wrong and the other half is a hostage situation on a bus. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Ben J Morgan does a good job in this. He's the only high point tho. Deniro is always great. Batista is… well. He screams a lot. Seems to be the only way he can act mad.. for the story, you'll need to suspend reality.. none of it made sense, and it the climax was very eye rollingly underwhelming.. I didn't regret watching it. There are definitely worse movies.. I recommend it. But don't go in expecting a good movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
