Charles Bramesco Inside Hook The mindbending auteur's latest film feels like a culmination of all that came before it. Sep 21, 2021 Full Review Adam Nayman The Ringer I'm Thinking of Ending Things doesn't just dramatize this condition but embodies it through Kaufman's daringly divergent interpretation of Iain Reid's source novel-the most idiosyncratic literary adaptation since Adaptation... Jan 27, 2021 Full Review Nick Schager Esquire Magazine It's a masterwork of unhinged tone, as well as a showcase for Buckley, whose grand performance covers an expansive stretch of emotional terrain. Jan 27, 2021 Full Review Diana Tuova Spotlight on Film One time-wasting exercise in awkwardness, exasperation and pretentiousness. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 30, 2024 Full Review Sarah Cortinaz InSession Film If I were to say that I’m Thinking of Ending Things messes with your mind, that wouldn’t even begin to tell you what you’re in store for. It’s unconventional, but so is director Charlie Kaufman. Apr 23, 2024 Full Review Ryan McQuade InSession Film Kaufman’s look at love, loss, legacy, and musicals is just downright bonkers. Audience Member If you relate to feelings of regrets in your life "I'm thinking of ending things" is definitely worth the watch, and can be a great wake up call to live in the moment and not dwell on missed opportunity and self-hatred. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/24 Full Review Oliver B This movie is clever, intriguing and also… interesting, once you understand the ending, everything makes sense… well done for an amazing film Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Nashville I Probably the worst argument for the tomatometer. This ridiculously flawed approval rating makes Rotten Tomatoes look bad. This movie's trash. It's crushingly depressing with no entertainment or redemption at all. I appreciate Kauffman writing Eternal Sunshine, but this was a really bad movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/22/24 Full Review Alan H I'm not qualified to talk about this film in any kind of informed way. I don't know the source novel or author, and the genre is not one I usually hang around in. But Jesse Buckley, Jeez. And Plemons. And Collette? How can this not be an amazing film? And it is. Painful, joyful, insightful, and mysterious. Lovely, panic attack-inducing, and unforgettable. Profoundly truthful, and difficult to escape after it ends. But worth the experience, far, far and again, worth it. Plus, David Thewlis steals scenes with just a glance, or a wave of his hand. Toni Collette has been burning up screens and scenes for a long time, and I've always gravitated toward her work. And then I saw Hereditary. After that, I've given her (ticket) money any time I could find an excuse. Just a marvelous movie. Highly recommend. And I love cold and snowy weather so it was made for me. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Ben N This is an artistic film that makes sense, only in retrospect. There isn't a natural plot - even though your mind strains to sift one out of the odd and seemingly random things that keep happening. If you appreciate a slow burn, and thinking back on what you have seen; linking it together with human experience, this will be a worthwhile watch for you. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/08/24 Full Review Gabriele M Pretentious yet predictable, way too long and removes the only good part of the novel which is the ending. 2 hours wasted.
