Years after the shark attacks that left Amity Island reeling, Sheriff Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) finds new trouble lurking in the waters. Mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) wants to rid the beach town of the stain on its reputation. But the disappearance of a pair of divers suggests that all is not right. When Sheriff Brody voices his warnings about holding a sailing competition, everyone thinks it's post-traumatic stress. That is, until a shark fin cuts through the water.

An aquatic slasher film that takes the time to explore Sheriff Brody's PTSD from the first film, Jaws 2 had no need being this good. While most of the teens are indistinguishable, Marge's death is horrifying and their fear is real and palpable.

Look...it's not nearly as good as the original, but it's probably the best shark movie other than original. It's more of a horror genre film of the late 70's. Roy's performance is fantastic!

Tedious and stale. Could have gone two stars, but in comparison to the original this movie is just terrible. Now, if it was just a stand alone film, maybe watchable. All I could think while watching was, this shark is crazy smart, and these humans, morons. But the thrills wear out by the end, you just want it to end, and if the shark wins, cool.

As far as sequels go, it’s pretty good. It must’ve been very difficult to live up to the hype of the original Jaws movie, but this one makes a valiant effort. Scheider is brilliant as usual. It is a decent summer movie, but definitely not like the first. If you enjoy the original Jaws, you will enjoy this one just not as much.
