Critics Consensus

Just My Luck asks little of its leads and less of its audience, adding up to a middling teen rom-com that sorely lacks sparks.

Brianna Wellen Chicago Reader This movie is less about the two main characters falling in love and more about exploring the equilibrium of good will in the universe. It's a mystical fantasy about how each decision we make matters and the differing paths life can take. Feb 15, 2019 Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Guardian The real rot is in the script. Bahad j This idea of the film shooting technique director made the film more attractive to people. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Uynga U two different people one heart Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Munkhjargal A This is a very interesting movie starring young people. If there were lucky and unlucky people, it would be like that. It is a comedy youth film. The director did a great job of capturing the scene where they are at the party. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review r96 s 'Just My Luck' runs a little thin, but it narrowly did enough for me to enjoy it. Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine don't, in my opinion, share as much onscreen chemistry as is generally needed for a romcom, though they are both likeable and produce solid enough performances that I was happy to watch them act throughout. It's amusing seeing McFly - a very good band, back then at least - billed as "Introducing..." given UK audiences would've 100% known who they were at the time of release. The movie does get a bit repetitive as the plot is, as noted, extremely simple, but again there's just about enough in there that I had a positive time watching. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review Galatea M A fun rom com for something light hearted and easy to digest. More so aimed at a younger audience. A product of its time, it's a little clunky. Though considering the great cast and while acknowledging the moments of simple fun… It's worth a watch for a laugh at the younger and now much more famous cast members, or a movie to easily enjoy with the tween members of the family.
