What to Know

Critics Consensus

The animation's well done, but impressive visuals aren't enough to cover for Knights of the Zodiac's threadbare plot.

Audience Says

Even if it isn't as entertaining as the anime, Knights of the Zodiac has enough fun fight scenes to make it worth a watch.

Carlos Aguilar Los Angeles Times It will neither satisfy the fandom’s demands for a true-to-the-bone homage to their childhood favorite, nor will it transmit to outsiders why this tale of blind courage in the face of insurmountable odds has inspired such decades-long devotion. May 15, 2023 Full Review Jayne Nelson Radio Times Seiya's attempts at wisecracking fall flat and, as for the plot holes, supplemental manga-reading may be required to fill in the gaps. This wasn't worth the wait. Rated: 2/5 Oct 5, 2023 Full Review Ed Fortune Starburst No amount of martial arts choreography or special effects can compensate for a weak script. Rated: 2/5 Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Alex Maidy JoBlo's Movie Network Otherwise, it should have gone as gritty as Robert Rodriguez did with Alita Battle Angel. As it stands, Knights of the Zodiac looks and feels like a compromise designed to kickstart a franchise that seems unlikely to happen. Rated: 5/10 Jun 2, 2023 Full Review Randy Meeks Espinof Three screenwriters were necessary to write a tremendously simple plot told in the most complex way possible. TokixDoki I really wished they advertised this movie better, there was only 5 others with me seeing the movie. Only playing the video game that covers alot of arcs, I was hoping the movie would follow the simple plot and even designs. Unfortunately, KotZ didn't really delve into the knights much besides Seiya and Ikki (which they barely got into besides the fact he's a knight as well). They did well bringing in characters from the anime, but really wished they kept the original designs of the cloth/armor. That was the major factor annoying me besides the very frequent use of CGI/slow mo. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/30/23 Full Review Jasmine like- actors dislike- made up new storyline and no shun or shiryu or hyoga Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/25/23 Full Review Peter W Well it killed a few hours that i didn't have anything planned for! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/25/23 Full Review Dc3 Horrible. Main actors were trash lol story was dumb. Bean and famky phoned it in. Action scenes tried their best to look realistic, a lot of cgi lol. So boring Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Victor D Cool storyline. Hard to make into a movie and hope they pursuit it more Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Penny I treated myself to a Mother's Day movie. This movie was AWESOM! I recommend everyone see it! The action and the special effects were all on point! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
