Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Mindhorn keeps the laughs coming, even while giving the impression of being a 30-minute TV sketch stretched out to a 90-minute feature. Rated: 3/5 May 7, 2017 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Barratt's delightfulness can't disguise the mediocrity of Mindhorn. Rated: 3/5 May 5, 2017 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) A delicious central premise and a thoughtfully crafted protagonist are ultimately betrayed in this scattershot comedy from the Mighty Boosh stable that's all promise and dwindling rewards. Rated: 2/5 May 5, 2017 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …even if it proved to be too much of an insider’s joke for viewers, Mindhorn is still an engaging comic creation, a pleaure in pleather from Simon Farnaby’s fertile imagination… Rated: 3/5 May 1, 2024 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation The second-funniest comedy ever filmed on The Isle of Man. Giles b Very much underappreciated gem very much in the vein of the mighty boosh. Julian Barrett's continues his boosh persona, howard moon, and carries the film ably supported by fellow co-writer simon farnaby. It's jinga time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/23 Full Review Gareth v After seeing the trailer, I was surprised at how funny this movie was. It's far from perfect but it is witty, original and carried by the energy of Barratt. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/23 Full Review T T I loved this cheesy British comedy. It's silly but quite funny. I laughed out loud many times. This 2017 low budget movie is better than the often lousy bs, overrated, and unfunny Hollywood comedies churned out every year. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/23 Full Review isla s This is a pretty silly film - its a British comedy type spoof of sorts, of a washed up actor from a 1980s detective show. It features quite a lot of crude language, more specifically sex references and the titular character is a bit like an Alan Partridge type - indeed Steve Coogan, who plays Alan Partridge, features in this film asn ex-colleague of Mindhorn. Its quite a cheesy film and a little cliched I thought. Its fairly entertaining I suppose and its an easy enough watch, generally but its certainly nothing new and its definitely not the sort of film I'm likely to think about at all after seeing it. If it comes on TV then it may be worth a watch, if there's little else on I suppose but thats about all I can say for it really, so I wouldn't especially recommend it, no. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie. A great send-up of cheesy old TV shows. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty shit to be fair most of the characters where annoying and the plot boring. The only character i liked was Jasmine and she had nearly no screen time. Yeah it was just very boring Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
