Critics Consensus

Mo' Money only comes with mo' problems in this comedically bankrupt outing from the Wayans brothers.

Variety Staff Variety Damon Wayans and his younger brother Marlon make a terrific comedy team in Mo' Money. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Derek Adams Time Out Damon and Marlon are at their best in the opening comic sequences, which allow their chemistry to operate, but their pacing is disrupted by the ensuing formulaic thrills. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Nell Minow Movie Mom Rated: 2/5 Nov 6, 2003 Full Review Brian D. Johnson Maclean's Magazine Silly and predictable, Mo' Money still manages to direct some well-aimed barbs at the idiosyncrasies and hypocrisies of mainstream America. Oct 11, 2019 Full Review Malcolm Johnson Hartford Courant While the screenplay weaves in a number of neatly drawn characters, MacDonald's direction fails to give the film an overall coherency. Jun 4, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com It's a shame. A low down dirty shame. Or maybe I'm thinking of another Wayans family member. Rated: C Jul 26, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I was a huge fan of these guys back in the day, so my excitement for this movie was palpable, it ultimately was a big letdown, but I decided to give it another chance, when my hype died down and my expectations were adjusted... Nope. It's still just a mediocre romantic comedy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/10/22 Full Review Audience Member Such a funny movie I couldn't stop laughing. Great classic. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible movie, why did I watch this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member As much as I loved In Living Color I really wanted to like this movie.I also wanted to like this movie as much as I thought I once did.It was just OK.It held my attention for awhile but I noticed myself doing other things, forgetting it was on & having it on as background noise a few times.I think the best & funniest parts of the movie were the In Living Color type moments. The thing that amazed me about this movie was that it went from being a comedy to a romantic comedy to an action flick.I don't think I'd recommend anybody to go out of their way to see it but if it's on & absolutely nothing else is on, you're bored out of your mind then I'd tell you to watch it.Too be honest with you, Even then I'm not sure I'd tell you to watch it.There's probably another movie out there you could be watching Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny shit best wayans movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Uneven in both plot and tone, Mo Money entertains nonetheless based on Damon Wayans "In Living Color" influence and lively screen presence.
