Christy Lemire ChristyLemire.com It is essentially Revenge of the Nerds, with fur. And scales. And whatever gooey, gelatinous substance comprises the outer coating of various other oddball creatures in this crazy parallel world. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 8, 2013 Full Review Wesley Morris Grantland Studios don't often seem to be thinking about the ideal moviegoer, just about the maximum number of moviegoers ... Pixar is no different in that regard, but even in this relatively fallow period ... it's never stopped thinking the most of us. Rated: A- Jul 26, 2013 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard So many movies, these days, are about nerds and their market value. Dan Scanlon's prequel is the newest, but already feels old. Rated: 3/5 Jul 12, 2013 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) A criminally underrated prequel that was better than it had any right to be, Monsters University is far more than a stellar college comedy with monsters learning how to scare humans. Mar 1, 2024 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Although not wholly original or as monumental as some of Pixar’s other work, it’s a film that embraces the studio’s drive for timeless, universally appealing animation. Rated: 3.5/4 Sep 2, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Lacks the substantial level of unbridled creativity and emotional punch found in its predecessor. Dale R This prequel to Monsters, Inc., tells the story of how Mike and Sully met in college. The biggest draw for the first film was the relationship between Sully and Boo, and while Mike and Sully’s relationship was interesting, not continuing to develop Sully and Boo was a disappointment. The choice to make a college fraternity movie out of this franchise is interesting on the same level as making a spy movie out of the Cars franchise. There are also several plot points that do not mesh well with the set up from the first movie. On its own, this movie has some great comedic and emotional moments. The voice acting is great and the animation is amazing as always from Pixar. There is a scene during the third act that shows Mike and Sully sitting in front of a Moon lit lake and it is absolutely beautiful! While this film does not expand the franchise the way it wanted to, this movie is worth your time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Jack N It’s a solid movie. Not as good as the first, but manages to live up to it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/24 Full Review Chael B An underrated masterpeice! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Avery K This is my favorite Pixar movie and love the animation and the jokes they throw in there. And art has some confessions to make😂 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review William O I loved this movie. Watched it all the time when I was kid and I still do all grown up. I remember I was obsessed with the scare cards and I wanted to own them real life. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/13/24 Full Review Audience Member This movie is amazing, I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Read all reviews
