Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review Aron B The movie has some very beautiful moments between the main characters and the network of friends and partners they develop throughout the years. Damiano Gavino and Andrea Di Luigi create nuanced and tender performances that pulled me into their world. The ending is painful but beautiful. It is interesting the way the roles between the characters has reversed with Pietro now pursuing Enea and so clearly describing their situation. It is sad the way "time and space" did get in the way of their love but as Pietro said- they never forgot each other. I understand some of the comments about the way the characters aged but that was minor to me. There were some powerful moments in the final scenes. The musical underscoring worked beautifully adding a whole other layer to their relationship. Ferzan Ozpetek is a genius who has proven his status more than once before, but in this film he has surpassed himself. This film will appeal to connoisseurs of high culture, those for whom feelings are not an empty phrase, those who have experienced a breakup and those who remember their old love, which cannot be returned.
