Audience Member 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama' keeps the thing understated and sober, and that largely works in the favour because the film has exact plot and isn't keen to expand the story into its dark end- just the happily ever after once Ravana gets killed and Lord Ram is crowned the King of Ayodhya. But the storytelling, to be fair, is far from simplistic. The English version of the film is a bland one with total disregard for sound levels. So, I suggest that you watch the film in Hindi, because that way it feels sassily old-fashioned and it's unapologetically healthy approach to the underlying war themes makes it winsome.
