Andrew O'Hehir Salon.com Impressive and also absolutely ludicrous, this is the movie you need to recommend to that suburban metalhead cousin in desperate need of having his mind blown. Dec 18, 2021 Full Review Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times Stone's admirable and persuasive evocation is unfortunately marred by his self-defeating resort to flurries of claustrophobic, fragmented hand-held shots that obfuscate just about every crucial plot development in the film. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 20, 2009 Full Review Amy Nicholson Boxoffice Magazine That director Tony Stone concocted and nearly pulls off this gruff, truly indie flick, maintaining our interest -- mostly -- through slow, wordless curio makes him a director to watch. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 17, 2009 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Severed Ways - a moviegoing experience steeped in history, the beauty of nature, and man's instincts for survival as he embraces a brave new world, not to mention some really cool Viking lore. Nov 15, 2019 Full Review Rumsey Taylor Not Coming to a Theater Near You Herzog has found a kindred spirit in Tony Stone, and this is probably the only film I can immediately think of in which the great German director's cinematic sensibility has been sustained and not merely homaged. Jul 6, 2010 Full Review Jeffrey Gantz Boston Phoenix More or less what you'd have if Ingmar Bergman had shot The Blair Witch Project... Rated: 2/4 Nov 5, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews

Edward K It's really hard to watch because of the lack of dialog, camera style, lack of a story, lack of character development, and weird music. Needs a lot of work. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow I don't even know what to say. Shaky camera, discombobulated. Also you will get to watch a guy poop from the back zoomed in no special effects just a zoomed in view of a guys poop coming out of his body. Enjoy! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member bends history some but still good axctioner Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Only three stars because 5 stars are reserved for EXCEPTIONAL Films only. Don't let the bad reviews fool you. It's a definite must see unless you have neither the patience nor the imagination to sit through an unconventional film. If so then you're not going to like this one. This is no Braveheart but it's entertaining nonetheless. Bear in mind this comes from someone who doesn't like plots spoon fed to him. Hats off to Mr. Stone for going out there and braving the wilderness both physically and artistically and bringing to life an almost science fictional account of a 1000 year old history. I would rather see this film than some big budget historical piece of the same genre. Brilliant story and photography. The dubbed dialogue was a disappointment as he clipped a couple of random lines from at least one Scandinavian film. Wish he would have asked me, I would have found him a better alternative. Don't stop making Films Mr. Stone! You're on the right course for sure! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member What should be exciting subject matter turns (vikings vs native americans) out to be ADD driven storytelling with a pointless script that just makes the whole movie tedious and boring to watch. And it looks like a student film saved by editing. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
