Whilst the first Sicario maintained a tight focus that makes it an incredible film - taut, brutal but thought provoking - this one sprawls. It doesn’t have the discipline or intelligence to deal with the big issues it tries to bring on board and so, whilst stylish, it ultimately feels shallow and exploitative.
