I say "mostly" because my mom loves them, and I've watched some with her. They were good flicks, but I just couldn't get enthused about them the way I did about "Spider-Man 2" or "Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars". However, I decided to give "Silver Bells" a try. What did I think? It was great in some ways, not so much in others. The entire cast did a wonderful job, and the crew deserves kudos for making an L.A. soundstage in the summer resemble New York City in the middle of December. The story, although slow-moving, was very touching and emotional. As someone who has lost an immediate family member, I can understand how the characters in this movie felt. It's also great to see a Yuletide-themed movie that doesn't even mention Santa Claus or getting gifts, two themes that have been overdone in previous Christmas flicks. It was also nice to see Nickelodeon mega-star Victoria Justice in her pre-"Victorious" days as a secondary character. On the other side of the coin, the film was quite pokey. "Silver Bells" has a runtime of less than 100 minutes, but it took me at least three sittings to get through it. So, my opinion? Unless you're a fanatic about Anne Heche or Yuletide flicks, or you just have to own everything Victoria Justice ever starred in, I can only recommend a rental. I should have trusted my sister's movie schedule and skip this.... the only point for Leica-camera, NYC and the pretty photographs. The rest of it was just stupid.
