Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online So STEVE JOBS is more of an actor's movie in which the performances outweigh every other area of the film. Which isn't a negative, but is what it is. Take that for what it's worth. Rated: B+ Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Angie Han Slashfilm I know exactly who Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, is. Steve Jobs feels a revelation because it exposes Steve Jobs, the man. Jun 14, 2017 Full Review Max Weiss Baltimore Magazine The Jobs here will always be "Aaron Sorkin's Jobs"... who people say was nerdier and more youthfully exuberant than the fully in-control maestro depicted in the film. But Fassbender does a great job with what he's given. Rated: 3/4 Jun 12, 2016 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It is so satisfying to watch good actors work with a whip-smart script and under very assured direction. Rated: 4/5 Aug 25, 2022 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Although highly theatrical in Sorkin's application of his dramaturgy, Steve Jobs also happens to be some of the best cinema offered in 2015. Rated: 4/4 May 12, 2022 Full Review Michael J. Casey Michael J. Cinema A lot of pretty words that sound good, but don't say very much. Rated: 2/5 Aug 18, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Tommy V Steve Jobs, the movie, written by the legendary Aaron Sorkin and directed by the not otherwise extraordinary Danny Boyle is a masterpiece of cinema, so I had to burst out posting about it. They nailed Michael Fassbander for playing Jobs, Seth Rogen for Wozniak, Jeff Daniels for Scully and the cast goes on. Job's story is probably the most frequently filmed biopic ever and yet they found a new angle showing Jobs' inhuman nature and the burden he carried and why he did so. It is not short of making your eyes water up when it questions what it is to be successful, a father, good or bad, a human being. If I told you the plot which is the 3 half hours before the 3 Apple product lunches then you could not possibly prepare for the emotional and philosophical load it is to unfold. Steve Jobs, the way you've never seen him. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Robert P Disappointing. A Sorkin self-parody replete with endless corridor-walking and ‘everyone’s a whip-smart smartass” script. Decades after the West Wing, Sorkin still over-polishes his dialogue and provides no variation in speaking style between the main characters. The repeated “five minutes mr presley” device soon induces boredom not tension. After the first hour I took a break due to wordiness-exhaustion and couldn’t believe we were only 60 minutes into this. Oh, and nothing much happens. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/04/24 Full Review Alec C How does one of the most brilliant minds of our lifetime manage to make some questionable decisions? Steve Jobs is about present some of his best work to the world, while grappling with the morally ambiguous choices he's made over the years. Michael Fassbender brings the influential businessman back for an intuitive performance into his character and his mind! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Nicholas L The movie is a powerhouse of filmmaking on every level. It's impeccably directed, has an emotionally resonant script and top notch performances across the board. It's a one of a kind biopic that transcends the genre conversations to deliver a modern classic film that deserves to be put in the conversation with the best of the decade, regardless of how you personally feel about the central figure. The film deserves all the praise it gets and I believe will stand the test of time. A wholly great achievement from Danny Boyle, Aaron Sorkin and all the cast and crew. A true masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review Christian S It was poorly cast and was just hard to watch. I am a fan of vintage Apple and this movie did not deliver. Poorly executed. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Liran M The films only redeeming feature is Kate Winslet's performance. Other than that, the film doesn't really tell an interesting story; there's very little about who Jobs is (other than a supreme last-minute multitasker). Fessbender's rendition of a tongue-lashing, wryly temperamental Jobs is well-executed as far as dramatic showmanship goes. But the film's hectic, three-episode structure robs us of much-needed character development and feels more like a Wall Street thriller than an exploration of character.
