Martin Carr martincarr.co.uk Writer-director Stuart Howes has created something captivating with his debut feature Tableau, that delicately explores relationship dynamics. He also delivers an understated exploration of the human condition that is subtly disarming. A true triumph. Mark B I did not find this movie to be of any particular interest. It meanders along and along it meanders, but frankly, there's not a lot going on here to keep me intrigued Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/24 Full Review Ian H Engaging movie that explores the relationship between a controlling mother and her college-aged daughter after the mother discloses she had a one night stand. The movie does a good job exposing the fissures in what externally appears to be a happy family. I found myself disliking the mother, feeling sympathetic to the daughter but hating the way she turned her hurt onto her boyfriend and being frustrated with the feckless husband. I then realized that the actors were playing characters that were close to home to me personally. A thought-provoking movie and worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Howes S For a short film I found this really thought provoking. In fact I went back and watched it a second time! Don't often do that. It's a bit like a Jane Austin novel in that it it focuses on a small group of people over a short period of time, but really gets into the detail of what's going on in these people's lives. Deffinately one to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Ashleigh M Great coming-of-age story with compelling acting and beautiful cinematography. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Allen Clare H Fabulous debut performance from Sofia Smith with a portrayal that was genuine and deeply moving. Wonderful direction and supporting cast. I can’t wait to see more from Sofia Smith. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Esther O 100% would recommend Tableau. I really enjoyed it!
