Logan D A USAF engineer surives the crash of an evacuation plane and is stranded on the coast of West Africa. Attempting to find another plane, he encounters an AWOL African soldier. They agree to work together to accomplish their goals while facing the undead. I loved they placed this situation in a unique setting for the genre. They filmed in Africa and the scenery is beautiful. However, the extremely slow stoic zombies are hardly scary. A better lead actor and more humor would've aided the film. My ranking: 6/10 (points for setting; negative points for lack of humor and not being scary) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review Liam D A entertaining Zombie Thriller that is a throwback to the movies of old Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/24/22 Full Review Audience Member Very low-budget zombie flick. Only redeeming quality is the unique vistas of Africa that are beautiful in a stark, colorful palette. The acting is abysmal and the "adventure" is dull and repetitive but it was an interesting and different take on a worn-out genre. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review uncle p Story/Screenplay: (2.5/5) Zombies in Africa had great potential as a new and original take on the walking dead genre of film. But seriously, where are all these zombies coming from in the middle of the desert? Another blown concept. Duration/Tempo: (3.5/5) At 1 hour and 45 minutes, it's an average length movie that felt shorter. Plenty of good content and well-paced action scenes. Cast & Crew: (3.5/5) Nice performances from both Rob Freeman and Prince David Oseia. Summary: (3/5) The cast was good and the film moved along quickly, but the story was sadly flawed. A borderline thumbs down. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member When I read the reviews, I thought they may be for a different movie. The zombies are not frightening. The traipse through the African bush is lack luster and non-tension building. Rob Freeman's acting is atrocious, while Prince David Oseia is quite good. There are no new theories as to what caused the zombies, no moral quandary, no big reveal at the end of a very long, boring build-up. What ever this movie was intending to do was an abject failure.
