Sergio Burstein Los Angeles Times In addition to obtaining outstanding performances from all his actors, the director demonstrates that he has extensive knowledge of the cinematographic language, and uses it to immerse us in its simple but ingenious story. [Full review in Spanish] May 25, 2024 Full Review Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A quirky, indie Neo-noir Western with a dash of Coen Brothers and a sprinkle of Tarantino. Darkly funny, well acted, and cleverly written. May 15, 2024 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com "Last Stop in Yuma County" is the kind of movie where you root for the worst to happen, because every escalation of misfortune makes things more entertaining. Rated: 3/4 May 10, 2024 Full Review Laura Clifford Reeling Reviews Just when you think you know where it’s going, Galluppi pulls the rug out from under you, and he does it with panache as well, cinematographer Mac Fisken showcasing the cast and location with various camera angles and techniques...one crafty little indie. Rated: B+ Jul 7, 2024 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) The Last Stop in Yuma County is an absolutely breathless standoff in a desolate gas station, borrowing from the great chamber thrillers where anything can pop off at any minute. Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Lee Zumpe Tampa Bay Newspapers Galluppi, who also wrote the script, conveys a particularly twisted sense of glee in allowing the tension to slowly simmer until it boils over. Hector good story, put together very well👍 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/16/24 Full Review Danny Z Pretty freaking good movie for not as much press given but surprisingly really good and left me thinking. definitely recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Clark A Very slow, very boring, very predictable, bad acting. Not worth watching. Good camera coloring and lighting though. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Gabe M I am all but convinced that XYZ Films is paying for reviews. Clumsily executed B movies with critical ratings north of 90%. I mean, what a clever business model, boost the ratings high enough and bored viewers scouring Amazon, Apple, etc for new indie films will think "Oh wow, this movie must be good! Only $8 to rent, $15 to own? Sure why not." Well, you got me again! Last Stop is an ugly film. It looks like a car insurance commercial, is mind-numbingly unfunny, poorly acted, the violence is unmotivated, unimpactful, and, as a Tarantino fan I can't believe I'm saying this, borderline distasteful. You don't care about the characters, you don't care about the set up. Feels like 3hrs, yet somehow comes in at barely over 90 minutes. They gave this guy the reigns to the new Evil Dead?! Sweet Jesus, what weird times we live in. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review Mike R Loved it! Very entertaining and not too gory. Definitely recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review Valerie N I have to be honest I am not sure about all of the comparisons to filmmakers like Tarantino, who really does a great job of focusing on the back story of the characters and the reason for the violence. This film became violence for the sake of violence and this dudette just doesn't abide. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/05/24 Full Review Read all reviews
