Jake Wilson Sydney Morning Herald While Disney's cheaply made Tinkerbell films have none of the cultural cachet of more lavish animated features, they're getting slyer and more interesting on their own terms. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 27, 2014 Full Review Leslie Felperin Hollywood Reporter So much better than one would expect for a fifth installment in a franchise, this tribute to female friendship and girl power is a kick. Apr 7, 2014 Full Review Inkoo Kang Los Angeles Times True flights of fancy - as when the fairies make an imaginary man walk and dance by manipulating an overcoat, tricorn hat and buckled boots - are far too rare. Feb 27, 2014 Full Review Rachel Wagner Rachel's Reviews (YouTube) Great voice voice actors. Rated: B+ Feb 20, 2019 Full Review Francesca Rudkin New Zealand Herald The Pirate Fairy shimmers and shines and couldn't be prettier. It's bursting with old-fashioned girl power and although there's nothing new it will make fun excursion if you've got young girls on your hands these holidays. Rated: 3/5 May 17, 2016 Full Review James Plath Family Home Theater Disney animators had fun with this one, coloring mostly within the lines of the Pixie Hollow movies but slipping outrageously outside the margins every now and then as they offer a rollicking prequel to Peter Pan. Dale R The fifth film in the Disney Fairies franchise is about a rogue dust-keeper fairy that is exiled from Pixie Hollow only to turn up later as a pirate captain. The animation for this film is on par with the previous installments. This is the first time other characters from the Peter Pan franchise are introduced in the Fairies franchise. (spoilers) Tom Hiddleston voices a young James Hook and is a little too over the top for me in this film. The story involving a young Captain Hook was not as satisfying as I wanted it to be. I think this is because what was presented opened up many new questions about the character instead of answering them. Tik-tok, the crocodile, was also introduced and I was satisfied with that introduction. (end spoilers) This film seemed to have a little fluff in the middle, but overall an enjoyable installment of the franchise that has been consistent though its run. I think this movie is worth your time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Bushra H This film and the other disney fairies films were 200 times better than the 2 Peter Pan films, but it at the same level as aladdin, it's one of my favorite franchises in the world, Funny, sweet, actionpacked and 3d Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/22 Full Review Liam D A fairly cute entry into the Tinker Bell franchise Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/14/22 Full Review Audience Member The fifth film in the Disney Fairies franchise is about a rogue dust-keeper fairy that is exiled from Pixie Hollow only to turn up later as a pirate captain. This movie was so refreshing for the Tinkerbell franchise, and I really appreciate them veering from the classic Tinkerbell formate we've been seeing in the past 4 films. Zarina is an amazing character added to the franchise, and is a new and improved Tinkerbell. She's clever, innovative, and possesses the same curiosity and wonderlust for the world around her that Tinkerbell does. I personally like her better than Tinkerbell because she takes responsibility for her actions, and doesn't blame other people for her mistakes. The main friend group of this franchise are FINALLY in the majority of the movie, and we're able to pay attention to them instead of Tinkerbell, which is truly a gift <3. I also enjoyed the new concepts presented in the film, such as making a new pixi dust tree, and pixi dust alchemy (which Zarina literally invented so... she's a genius too?) the nods to Peter Pan were a nice touch as well, and the plot twist, while kind of predictable, added more to the story and overall was fun to see. I think this movie out of the 4 so far has the least amount of Tinkerbell, making it my favorite! The side characters are really able to shine and the pixihollow universe feels expanded. Next up, all they have to do is remove Tinkerbell entirely and it'll be a true 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member So many plot holes through out the movie, but this is for kids so it was okay for that reason Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
