Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com This is that movie that feels like a car crash that you simply can’t look away from. You love it and you hate it but once you start it you can’t stop it. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media Twilight meets the After series in this tortured teen romance from Italy that features an excellent lead performance and murky undertones of childhood loss and trauma. Apr 17, 2024 Full Review Romey Norton Ready Steady Cut Overall, The Tearsmith is a teen romance suitable for younger audiences who aren’t old enough to know any better. Rated: 2/5 Apr 6, 2024 Full Review Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community The Tearsmith is an utterly confusing, absolutely uninteresting mess of a movie. With no redeeming qualities, one can only hope that these clearly passionate teenage actors get more chances to participate in projects worthy of their time. Rated: 2/10 Apr 5, 2024 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider The Tearsmith doesn’t really ever address the potential ickiness of this... Maybe this theme found fuller expression in the novel, but in the film, it can’t align itself with the overdone riffing on fairy tales, wolves, and innocent damsels. Apr 5, 2024 Full Review Aurora Amidon Paste Magazine If someone were to compile a comprehensive list of young adult romance genre tropes, it would likely be a spitting image of Netflix’s The Tearsmith. sofia g Wow this one was bad. Not due to the actors though. I thought they did a great job with the piss poor material they got. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/24 Full Review Juli M Basically a wattpad fanfiction. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Ngọc N Cringe is all i have to say after watching this film. I could not count how many times have I stopped the film just to cry myself out saying it was so cringe and could not stand with it. I know that the subtitles makes it harder to tolerate and also can't express the emotion or words accurately but like I still don't get it with some scenes like i'm living back the 2000s or something so unnatural and stiff idk yea its just bad tho. The worst movie for me this year tho, Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Mazza W A lovely film in the style of a stylised, dark fairytale. I don't understand the negative comments regarding the bad acting. I think people watched it dubbed, and dubbing almost always makes a film cringy. In the original Italian, the acting is very moving, authentic and comprehensible. What I don’t understand and liked is that the film is stylised in a pretend posh English/East Coast setting when the 'sentiment' is clearly Italien. It would have been better to clearly set it in Italy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/24 Full Review Alexandre H Too old for this teen romance movie. I don’t blame the actors. I blame the bad material, writers and director! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Kelsey S It was pretty bad…the acting was terrible. And I can be here for cheesy movies. But it was bad. Music was great, and I liked the ending. But it was so cringey most of the entire movie. Oof. Don’t recommend. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
