What to Know

Critics Consensus

The ending may be less than satisfying, but Denzel Washington reminds us why he's such a great actor in this taut and brutal police drama.

Roger Clarke Independent (UK) Superior buddy cop movie. Rated: 3/5 Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Telegraph Staff Daily Telegraph (UK) Denzel Washington chomps down on the role of an unprincipled narcotics cop with exhibitionistic relish, but it's already an overrated performance -- a karaoke bad guy from an actor with an almost untarnishably righteous screen persona. Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Wilson Morales indieWire We hadn't seen Washington play the bad guy before, and with his ferocious, dominating, and charismatic performance, the Oscar was his... Mar 31, 2020 Full Review Alex Papaioannou InSession Film Make no mistake, Fuqua’s Training Day is one of the finer films to take place over the course of a single day. Oct 30, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) The searing tension Washington brought — occasionally punctuated by his disarming charm — made Alonzo Harris such a memorable bad guy. Sep 6, 2023 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy A gritty and initially engrossing cop flick. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 5, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

herrerrera h When it came out , it was 4.9/5 When you watch it twenty years later , like every movie You see the cheesy corniness. It's like when I show my younger sister that twelve years younger old must see flicks . Denzel is my top three favorite actors. FLIGHT is currently my favorite from him. But to each their own. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/09/24 Full Review Alysson B O que falar do denzel Washington,o cara rouba completamente a cena em seu tempo de tela,um ótimo filme para se divertir principalmente nas partes de comédia Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Audience Member denzel best performance! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review The C King Kong ain't got s*^t on me. Classic Denzel and a fantastic performance by Ethan Hawke. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/09/24 Full Review Elijah M Calling this just a “movie” would be an insult. From each character, the power dynamic changing in the last moments is what makes this film audience question what will be next. THIS IS NOT A COP MOVIE, It's the hero realizing the system is more than broken and the villain revealing it was never meant to be built. Yet all characters have a clear moral set at the beginning of the movie. Finally, towards the end, they all face an alteration of their beliefs. Overall this film is better to watch at “home rather jail.”. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review Giorgio S It was pretty good. Denzel performance held the whole movie and the Los Angeles fot perfectly woth the corrupt cop plot. David Ayer is actually capable of making movies, just not big blickbusters.
