From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick and Jordan Peele, comes Wendell & Wild, an animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell (Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (Peele) -- who enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot -- a tough teen with a load of guilt -- to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion. Dwight Brown DwightBrownInk.com Sometimes there’s too many cooks in the kitchen. Sometimes there are too many storylines in a movie. Same difference. Rated: 2/4 Nov 11, 2022 Full Review David Fear Rolling Stone This needs a lot more chaos energy to power it past the rough spots. None of this should detract from the movie’s good elements and better-angels best intentions. Oct 31, 2022 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) The story is a touch convoluted, but it’s a gleefully grim good time. Rated: 4/5 Oct 30, 2022 Full Review Shakyl Lambert CGMagazine Overall, Wendell and Wild is a solid entry point for introducing kids to horror. Rated: 7.5/10 Jul 12, 2024 Full Review Kyle Logan Castle of Chills From Selick’s classic mixture of the macabre and the whimsical in three dimensional stop-motion to shadow plays and some incredible paper cut-out art, the film is a wonder to behold. Jul 11, 2024 Full Review Damon Wise Deadline Hollywood Daily In 2009, it was considered almost shocking when Pixar’s Up addressed the subject of death... But while that door is now open, Henry Selick’s Wendell & Wild finds inventive ways to blow the hinges off. Sep 25, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Clark C Fantastic visuals and beautiful animation but a terrible script. Not involving, not well conceived. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/23/22 Full Review Clay S It’s just not good. Tried watching it with the family and it’s a tough watch. Hard to follow and boring. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Enchanted M So sorry to disrespect the people behind this movie but I must say that this is in no way a good movie, it's extremely boring and barely has a plot worth paying attention to with an ending that comes out of nowhere. DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING LIKE HIS PREVIOUS WORK! This is not Coraline, James and the Giant Peach, or Nightmare Before Christmas. The only reason I gave it some stars is because easily this is one of the greatest stop motion I have seen in a movie that has no substance to care for Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/24 Full Review Lucrecia P La película tiene buena animación pero la protagonista es insoportable y los personajes son re planos lo único bueno son Wendell y Wild me asen reír es 6.5 de 10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Jacob L not that good movie i can't even remember anything Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review Torin F WENDELL & WILD is a weird one. It's a little too dark for typical kids' fare (more grim than spooky), with an angry protagonist who does experience real growth, but is generally unlikeable for most of the movie. The stop-motion style is visually interesting, but lends the entire film a herky-jerky rhythm worsened by the characters' wooden expressions, making it hard to get into or care about what's going on (and there's a lot going on). I love Key & Peele, Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice, so you'd think Wendell & Wild would be a slam dunk. But it's a bit of a dud.
