A bloodless slasher that fails to congeal, I Know What You Did Last Summer hacks at its killer cast with plot holes and unsatisfying twists.

Wenlei Ma News.com.au The performances are patchy, the writing is flat and the pacing is sluggish. Nov 2, 2021 Full Review Beth Webb Empire Magazine There's no fun to be found in this glossy yet charmless reboot, which takes a swing at bringing the slasher film to the TikTok age and misses by miles. Rated: 2/5 Oct 30, 2021 Full Review Heather Hogan Autostraddle I Know What You Did Last Summer is my first real brush with classic horror, and it's also the first time I've ever fallen asleep watching someone's head get chopped off. Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Nuha Hassan Off Colour Amazon Studio’s I Know What You Did Last Summer premieres tomorrow, just in time for spooky season. Unfortunately, I’m left asking “Why?” more often than “What’s next?” Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Michael Cuby them. With its TV format, the writers are given much more space to build suspense and dive into each central character’s backstories. Nov 1, 2022 Full Review Marya E. Gates The Playlist The only motivation for the audience to care who knows what these teens did last summer is so the show will finally end. Rated: D Feb 23, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Le principe du premier film n'est pas du tout respecté et c'est dommage Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review Virus S I was actually intrigued where this story was going. It has all the tropes of a slasher film, but manages to play with audience expectations a bit. It devolves into a self-indulgent disaster as it seems to relish in bending logic in order to deliver plot twists. I'm not even joking - in the closing credits, there's an epilogue, fourth-wall-breaking monologue where a character just spells out the ending. You know your writing is bad when there's this afterthought that maybe the denouement isn't coherent - let's have our last effort be exposition. This show's greatest achievement is epic squandering of potential. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/23/23 Full Review Max R This shouldn't be considered a horror series at all. It's a teen melodrama with some ludicrous murders happening in the background, once every 1.5 episodes. I don't think the actors are at fault. Nobody could breathe life into such stale writing. I don't know why they thought dragging such a thin story out over eight 45-50 min episodes would work. I honestly question if the teen slasher works in a tv series format. It's a genre meant for the feature film. Alas, I stuck with it, hoping that it would at least result in a satisfying, unexpected conclusion. What unfolded was one of the most idiotic, illogical, frustrating endings I've ever seen in a "who-done-it". It made absolutely no sense. Don't waste your time on this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Ragda A Really fun slasher series that gets too much hate. Love the ending so much!!
