Piper Chapman is a public relations executive with a career and a fiance when her past suddenly catches up to her. In her mid-30s she is sentenced to spend time in a minimum-security women's prison in Connecticut for her association with a drug runner 10 years earlier. This Netflix original series is based on the book of the same title. Lory J Watched the first half, got bored, turned it off. This is more for young people, I think, than an older audience that wants more substance and less gags. Also, I felt no sympathy for the protagonist who intentionally and continuously chose poor judgment, which is why she landed in prison. Her fiancé is a low self-esteem wimp, but I did like the characters in the prison. Again, though, I need to root for the protag. Wasn't happening. I realize that a lot of the events that occur are fictionalized, but it was still cool to see a little bit of what goes on in prison.
