A spokesman for the District Attorney’s Office said Morrissey — who helped make the decision a box of bullets given to police wasn’t relevant to the case, which led to Friday’s decision to dismiss the charges against the actor — will continue to represent the state in a pending case against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armorer.

District Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed charges against actor Alec Baldwin, a stunning end to a case that began in 2021 with the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. In her ruling, Sommer said the defense’s discovery of the evidence during the trial “impacted the fundamental fairness of the proceedings. If this conduct does not rise to the level of bad faith it certainly comes so near to bad faith to show signs of scorching.”
