“Euphoria” Fans Found Tom Holland Lurking in a Cast Photo

At long last, season two of Euphoria officially premiered on January 9. Only one episode in and it’s safe to say things are already wild with characters’ storylines intertwining and new faces in town — but it looks like we need to pay attention to more than just HBO’s schedules if we want in on all the Euphoria easter eggs. One of them: Tom Holland visiting the set. 

Back in December, during a Q&A session with IMDb, Tom himself revealed he had visited the set of Euphoria “at least 30 times” to support Zendaya, his Spider-Man: No Way Home co-star and rumored partner,  while season two was being filmed. Of course, even before that, rumors of Tom being present on set started circulating on social media, which meant anticipation for the very first official spotting was bound to be high and, friends, it looks like it’s finally here.  

As noted by TikTok user @get.me.some.dino.nuggets, the first Tom spotting could be hidden in a photo carousel posted to Instagram by Siyon Foster. The photoset in question features various pics of the set, cast, and crew taken while filming what appeared to be season two’s first episode — chief among them is one with an eerily familiar silhouette behind Zendaya. 

“DID NO ONE ELSE SEE THIS,” the TikTok user captioned their video, which zooms in on the person peeking out behind Zendaya to include the words “hey tom.” Of course, the pic appears to be a film photo with a considerable amount of grain, which makes it hard to distinguish the person's face super clearly. There could be a minuscule possibility that this is not Tom and just someone who resembles him. Some commenters theorized that it could be Dominic Fike (who plays Elliot, the new guy Rue meet at the NYE party) or even Austin Abrams (aka Ethan, Kat’s boyfriend) — but I personally choose not to emphasize that possibility. Having visited the set more than 30 times, Tom is bound to appear in more than one behind-the-scenes pic. It’s just pure math!  

Aside from potential behind-the-scenes glimpses, it’s no secret that Tom actively wants a role, or at least a cameo, in Euphoria. Tom very effusively revealed his desire to be featured on the HBO hit series during his and Z’s chat with IMDb. “Listen, I have been petitioning for this for a long time and it has not happened yet and I'm very disappointed,” Tom said in the interview. “I want to be in Euphoria!”

Back then, Zendaya only quippingly added that she would try to pull some strings over at HBO — but we now know that there is a high possibility she actually did. According to E! News, Z actually asked the producers of the show to give him a cameo in season two. “We’ve talked about it all the time. We’re like, ‘Let's just sneak him in the back of a shot or something!’” Zendaya admitted in a new interview with the network, where she added that Tom was “very supportive” of her during filming. “This is not an easy season so I needed as much of that as I could get,” she added. Cameo or not, we love to see it.
