Euphoria fans, we ride at dawn — the beloved, chaotic teen drama is coming back for season 3. Announced today, February 4, HBO confirmed that Euphoria has been renewed for a third season.

Created, written, and directed by showrunner Sam Levinson, the Emmy award-winning series follows 17-year-old Rue (played by Zendaya), and the troubled lives of her friends as they navigate love, grief, substance use, and high school.

Since premiering back in the summer of 2019, the show has received widespread critical acclaim for its performances, cinematography, wardrobe, score, and more. According to a statement by Warner Media, Euphoria's season 2 premiere episode debuted as the most viewed episode of an HBO series ever on streamer HBO Max, with its viewership from season 1 more than doubled. Zendaya took home the 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Rue, making her the youngest woman ever to win.

“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart," Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, said in a statement. "We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”

The series, which also stars Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Alexa Demie and more, currently holds more than 14 million viewers across platforms. The show is one of the most talked-about series of the last few years, with its season 2 premiere episode becoming the no. 1 most social premium cable episode since the Game of Thrones series finale.

No tentative release date for season 3 has been announced, but the eight-episode sophomore season just hit its halfway mark — with the season finale set to air on February 27.
