New Ariana Grande Music Is Likely on the Way

All it takes is five seconds of her signature airy vocals for Ariana Grande to send fans into a tizzy — and understandably so.

Late on Monday, September 14, the singer teased a short clip of what seemed like an audio mixing station; pressing play offered up her melodic riffing, but no lyrics. Instantly, fans guessed that this meant new music was on the way.

As Billboard noted, the singer paired the clip with what could potentially be a song lyric: “Know my love infinite, nothing that I won’t do,” it reads in her signature lowercase text. Under both posts, fans guessed if new music was on the way, if the singer was collaborating with one of their other faves, or if she was holding music until next year.

Another telling clue? “Rain On Me” collaborator Nija Charles quote tweeted Ari’s lyric, with a few loved-up emoji. A few hours later, she also tweeted that she was “executive producing my first project. Only hits on the brain.” It’s not clear if that tweet was related to Ari’s posts, though one fan asked Nija if it was.

Ari teamed up with Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber to release “Rain On Me” and “Stuck With U,” respectively, during this era of social distancing, but she might be slower to drop her own work given that it’s a “tricky time,” as she told Zane Lowe in May. In that same interview, she also hinted that she was holding a collab with Doja Cat for when the time is right.
