Netflix has stopped production of the Break Point tennis documentary series after only two seasons because of poor ratings and concerns over access to the sport’s leading players.

Break Point was first announced by the subscription streaming service in January 2022 as tennis attempted to capitalise on the interest that had been generated by Formula 1’s Drive to Survive. In a rare joint agreement between the sport’s various governing bodies, including both the ATP and WTA tours, as well as Wimbledon, the cameras were apparently granted a “behind-the-scenes look” at the biggest tournaments across the world.

The results were underwhelming. Despite featuring stars such as Nick Kyrgios and Coco Gauff, the documentary failed to capture some of the most interesting storylines on the tour
