Start your engines because it’s almost time for Miami’s third lap around the Formula 1 track. The 2024 Miami Formula 1 Crypto.com Grand Prix is taking over Miami the first weekend in May, bringing with it a slew of parties, famous people, and not-to-be-missed events. Unlike during the race’s inaugural year, tickets to the three days of races and qualifiers are still available, and if you want to be a part of the action as 2024 is offering the most access yet.

Because the race itself is but a small fraction of the fun, figuring out what to do, where to go, and how to get in can feel a little overwhelming. So we’ve broken down everything from getting tickets to hitting the weekend’s biggest parties in this convenient guide. Here’s how to make the most of F1 weekend in Miami.

Where is the Formula 1 Miami race?

The 2024 Miami Formula 1 Crypto.com Grand Prix will be at the Miami International Autodrome, which Dolphins and Canes fans know as the Hard Rock Stadium parking lots. The space is beautifully converted into an exciting F1 track, complete with grandstands, VIP tents, and even a makeshift “marina” where spectators can party on yachts. The 3.63-mile track has 19 corners and cars reach average speeds of about 140 miles per hour, though top speeds along the straightaways can reach 200 mph.

When is the Miami F1 race?

The Miami race will take place May 3–5. Friday will feature F1 practice sessions along the track, as well as qualifying for the event’s Porsche Carrera Cup, Sprint, and Academy races. Saturday brings those races as well as qualifying for the big F1 race, and Sunday is the main event.

Where can you buy F1 Miami tickets?

Tickets can be purchased through the official race website. You can get on the grounds for as little as $150 with a Campus Pass, which pretty much just gets you into the event with no seats or guaranteed viewing platform. If you’d like to sit down to enjoy the event, Grandstand passes start at $900 and reach quadruple-digit mark, depending where you sit. F1 also offers a variety of premium experiences from suites to hospitality tents, which are mostly booked up in advance and require a call and consultation to reserve. So start greasing your well-heeled social connections now.

What to eat and drink at the Miami Formula 1 race

F1 is an auto race, sure, but it could also double as a food and drink festival. No fewer than 80 food and drink purveyors will be on hand, offering spectators a taste of some of the best restaurants in Miami. Pizza lovers will delight as some of Miami’s best slice spots will be on hand including Harry’s Pizza from chef Michael Schwartz, Editor Pizza, and more. 4 Rivers Smokehouse will be dishing up brisket and other barbecue favorites, and Novecento and Dos Croquetas will have a sampling of Miami’s famous Latin cuisine.

Tacos will abound with both Bodega and Talkin’ Tacos on hand. Downtown food hall Julia and Henry’s will have a special popup F1 location with some of its biggest hits. And Sushi Maki and Suviche will both be there with fresh sushi, if you’re looking for something a little lighter.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Miami party if there weren’t also an abundance of cocktails. Hendricks Gin will be pouring out of a three-story bar on the track’s East Campus, and one of Miami’s best bars, Sweet Liberty, will also pop up at the Autodrome. A special Flor de Cana rum bar is bringing the tropical vibes, and guests can sample some of the city’s top local beer at Cerveceria la Tropcial’s bar near The Fountains.
