Sooo What Happens to This Guy?

A viral video shows a man peeing in the aisle of an airplane after a flight attendant asked him to remain in his seat. What happens to him now?

Bad behavior on airplanes has become all too common. It seems like every other week, there’s a viral video of someone yelling or causing a general ruckus disrupting their fellow travelers’ journey and making a nightmare work environment for flight attendants. But the latest viral moment is really taking the (toilet) cake on bad behavior.

Photos circulating online show a man in a shockingly salmon colored shirt who unzipped his pants and pulled out his penis during a flight. According to tweets about the incident, he was told he needed to wait until the seatbelt sign was off before he could go to the bathroom. According to the tweets, the man decided to  pee right in his aisle, in full view of everyone. Warning, the tweet below shares a man’s bare upper legs, a urine stream, and the suggestion of an out-in-the-open penis.

So what happens when you expose yourself (crime on the ground), and start urinating in public (also a crime on the ground) on an airplane, where everything escalates to a federal crime? Well, buddy, you get hit with the cold hard arm of the law. As we can see in the tweet, law enforcement had already arrived on the scene (no doubt with a satisfied flight attendant pointing out the offending pisser).

Neil McCarthy, 25, was arrested after the American Airlines flight was diverted from its destination to Manchester-Boston regional airport and had to make a diverted landing at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. According to federal law, there are actually a few different charges that could be laid against him, including interference of a flight and public indecency.

“When the flight landed, an officer boarded the airplane and spoke to a flight attendant, who said that McCarthy had exposed himself and urinated on the flight,” said a statement regarding the incident released by the Department of Justice. “McCarthy was taken into custody and escorted off the plane.”

McCarthy reportedly shared that he had gotten pretty drunk during a layover before boarding the flight where the incident occurred. Unfortunately, getting loaded at the airport bar is not a way to get out of being charged with a crime. According to the US Department of Justice, McCarthy was charged for exposing his penis and faces up to six months in prison and a $5,000 crime. Right now, he’s out until trial and has yet to be convicted of any crime.

Word to the wise? Avoid unwanted viral fame, legal fees, and federal prosecution and just keep your genitals in your pants when in public spaces.
