The Trendiest Destinations This Summer Are Also the Cheapest

Summer is basically here, but there's still time to plan an affordable trip with flights for less than $500.

Even though the price of airfare is down by more than 5% this year compared to last summer, some of us are still skipping going out to restaurants and even cutting back on groceries in order to afford traveling this summer. And while planning a cheap trip isn't the easiest thing to do this late into the game, there are still a few locations where you can visit that have lower-than-average ticket prices.

According to new data from Expedia, the following five travel destinations are still offering some affordable flights for summer travel during the summer's two remaining major holiday weekends: the Fourth of July and Labor Day. Expedia found that average flight prices for these destinations are still under $500 each. Here they are, for each holiday:

2. Orlando
3. Las Vegas
4. Cancun
5. Toronto

Labor Day
