The world’s largest coffee chain is handing out freebies today.
On July 10, Starbucks customers who order any cold handcrafted drink including cold brews, iced espresso beverages, refreshers and more will receive a free, limited-edition reusable straw at participating U.S. and Canada locations.
The coffee giant says quantities of the colorful item are limited, so the summertime straws will only be available while supplies last.
All customers are eligible for the giveaway, regardless of how they place their order — which even includes delivery on DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub so you can sip in style without stepping into the scorching summer heat, just be sure to tip your delivery driver.
Included in the lineup of eligible orders are the recently-released, boba-filled refreshers from its summer menu as well as the chain’s new permanent Iced Energy Beverages.
One caveat: Customers are limited to one straw per purchase, so maybe ask for separate bills if you’re taking a coffee break with friends.
Starbucks says the straw works with its standard cold cup lid and most of the brand’s reusable cold cups.
The chain has been making strides to be more eco-friendly, taking steps to reduce disposable cup use in 2022 and allowing U.S. and Canada customers to use their own personal cups for in-store orders. Later, at the start of 2024, it began allowing customers to bring their personal cups for drive-through and mobile orders as well.
