Issue with Wix Billing and Poor…

Issue with Wix Billing and Poor Customer Service

I am deeply frustrated with Wix’s handling of my account. I haven’t used my Wix account for a year and forgot about the renewal, leading to an unexpected charge of $547 USD.. This has put my bank account in the negative and jeopardized my ability to pay rent next month.

I mistakenly flagged Wix’s emails as spam, missing renewal info. When I tried to get a refund, their AI bot simply said it wasn't possible. This automated response provided no real help and has severely impacted my finances.

I urge Wix to improve their customer service and billing practices.

Awful company!

Awful company!! Cancelled trial over 5 months ago and they still took 5 payments. Contacted them to be fobbed off with generic answer for two weeks now. Then to be told they will give me a refund minus £15 chargeback fee for each payment so that’s £75 in fees. Disgraceful customer service. This is how they treat small businesses!!
Feel totally scammed.

A company completely lacking in integrity

If I'd seen the reviews that Wix only works for one-page sites, it would've saved me time and money. I invested in Wix and attempted to transfer my Wordpress website to the Wix platform. It worked fine on laptops and desktops but would not load properly on mobile devices, which are essential for my business.
I couldn't figure it out and hired a wix expert to help. He couldn't get it to work either.
I contacted wix, cancelled the service and requested a refund. It was 3 days past the two-week free period. But since it was due to failure of their site, I figured they would honor the refund request or at the very least prorate for the time use.
Boy was I wrong. They refused. I've even filed a dispute with my credit card company and they still refuse. So shady and unscrupulous!

Denied a refund despite explaining I…

Denied a refund despite explaining I found the website too hard to use, also explained I was neurodivergent and asked that this be took into consideration. A few weeks outside my 14 day refund timeframe. Considering seeking legal advice. ** Update*** in response to the below reply: I replied to your email yet 12 hrs later still waiting

Update: With respect, it took only 20 minutes to decline my refund request yet a complaint takes several days, furthermore twice a case manager has reached out (conveniently straight after both your replies) stating they cannot find any account despite me sending a screenshot of my plan.

Terrible Customer Service.

Terrible Customer Service.
They increased my price plan by 50% so I cancelled and then followed the instructions to change my billing cycle to monthly as I couldn't afford it. It showed me 3 options of an amount per month by 12, 24 or 36 months and when I chose one it took the money in one go. I called immediately and was directed to request a refund which was denied overnight with no explanation. Raised a dispute with Paypal and then Wix cancelled my website. I provided Paypal with all they asked and more and they sided with Wix! American companies supporting American companies. To top it all off even though they have my money they won't re-instate my website unless I pay another subscription. Also you can not transfer your website to anyone else as all other reputable providers use wordpress. I am also making a complaint to Paypal and I have raised a dispute with my bank.

Great Customer Service - EVENTUALLY

Update
After posting this review, the Wix team from Iowa reached out to help. Alyssa was fantastic and with her help (and after the offer of a refund) I signed up for an extra 2 more years. Her customer service was 5 stars but the higher ups that outsource call centres to areas that have no autonomy or understanding are the reason I was so angry. Alyssa 5 stars | Management 1 star.

I've been with Wix for years and I'm leaving now. Increased my price plan by 50% so I asked to change plan and switch to monthly. Took the money for a yearly plan. Called 3 times to get a refund and each time spoke to someone in Guatemala or The Philippines who didn't know what they were doing. Didn't help whatsoever. Avoid.

Avoid at all costs!

I had a wix website which I had not been used in a long time. Without notifying me by email (like their policy claims they would) they Autocharged me for £518! Imagine my surprise when I check my bank statement and it's past the 14 day "trial" period so when I requested a refund they rejected it. No prior warning, no assistance, avoid at all costs!

Wix do not support small business... criminals

Wix do not support small business. If you accidentally forget to cancel your subscription by a few days they will charge you for the full year and offer no refund. To me this is just criminal - they have no consideration to small business and the fact that £230 is a lot of money for some. To them they just don't care.
Also... there are better online webtools out there. We left them for this reason in the first instance. I would not recommend them at all - stay away and use a company that supports small business.

Canceled service and now being charged a year later

I subscribed to Wix's website service last year. However, I was not satisfied with their platform so I requested a refund in accordance with their policy. I was issued a full refund. Now, a year later, I've been charged by Wix to register the domain which I do not use. Wix's response has been to deny any refund request "because only new accounts within 14-days are eligible for refunds" this is ludicrous because I originally canceled within the refund period and therefore I was not expecting any new charges. Wix's practice here is extremely predatory. Do not trust this company or use its services.

Obviously others have had similar issues with Wix's shady billing policy. Wix needs to understand how a consumer might be reasonably think that subsequent cancellation would negate any prior agreement for auto-renewal. The billing policy must be updated to protect customers who cancel from unwanted charges.

Cheating and stealing money

This company is cheating clients and stealing money. Not only they didn’t cancel my subscription when asked next day after the purchase: firstly through customer service and secondly cancelled through their website (never seen refund of £99) but also they tried to take money from my account following year for the subscription I cancelled and never used!!!! This is just a joke!

BEWARE - Wix take money before the renewal date and on 'auto renew'

Wix took £230 from my paypal account apparently on an 'auto renew' subscription that I was unaware of.
They also took the money on 28th June, and my plan is not due to renew until 12th July!
Really hard to speak to anyone - just loads of 'autobot' repeating itself - eventually was given link to request a refund but it says it will take 20 days to review.
I don't want this service. I don't want to renew. I have cancelled well before the renewal date. Give me my money back!

very poor customer service

very poor customer service, no refund even if i cancel a membership they renew wihtout my consent, they also charge me 3 times the original price. Only a chatbot will even talk with you, seems like they don't want to hire people

Questionable subscription practices by Wix.

After closing a business that used Wix, I noticed they automatically billed my account for another full year of service. The contractor who created the site set the services to autorenew (unbeknownst) to me. I reached out to cancel the services and the request for a refund was initially denied. Wix then reached me to help resolve the issue. Elaine, with customer service did fantastic job remedying the situation to my full satisfaction, promptly and courteously. Well done Elaine.

The customer service was over the top GREAT

The customer service was over the top great.
I had a guy named Romick on a chat and he was really thorough. My issue involved hoping to get a partial refund on the issue. By contract they really didn't have to do the refund. But... they did a full refund and I was shocked. Awesome support. They even helped me switch my plan to a lower tier and save money.

Renewable subscription and refund

Hello, I'm writing this reluctantly, but after using Wix for a year, I achieved nothing, and before renewing the premium subscription, I was not informed about any upcoming payment. Now, waiting for the application, which may be rejected, is taking a very long time... Overall, anyone who purchases a premium card or site should be careful and turn off automatic subscription, because that's how it works... Zero information from Wix. I will never come back to you again.

My payment isuue

My payment for the business premium account was unexpectedly higher than I had anticipated. American Express noticed me, so I immediately contacted their customer service. I do not want to pay extra for not using it, but somehow, on my end, I have upgraded without noticing it. Wix customer service Katherine checked and showed me step-by-step instructions. She went ahead and helped me clear out and get my refund within a few minutes. She also walked me the extra step to answer my tech issues and improve my web functionality. I didn't know about the blog she suggested so that I could be connected.

Had an unexpected and unwanted charge for something by Wix, customer support agent issued a refund in 10 minutes.

What more can a client ask for.
Will keep using Wix for our blog subdomain and recommend it further.

Wix refund policy is a joke.

I found the program really confusing and hard to use. The customer service is useless. It says that you can get a full refund if you do it in under two weeks. Apparently, that doesn't apply to the domain name. So I have just wasted £50 and got nothing in return. This was a waste of time and money. I will never use this website again.

Wix.com. Bad newsTried wix.com website platform. Found it useless and cancelled butthey charged me for renewal the following year. Paypal wouldnot refund but told me to cancel authority to debit,which I did. Wix then canceled my unused account but no refund for the year I had just been charged for. Contactimg them is virtually impossible - just robot answers.

* They finally returned my money. So everything ok.

F#*K Wix,....they hosed us on an auto…

F#*K Wix,....they hosed us on an auto renew AND then because we cancelled, shut down our website BEFORE our current paid subscription ended !!!

Fortunately we screenshot our Chat (they dont offer a transcript at the end of Chat, how convenient for them), nothing but a run-around, thanks to our credit card company, who helped us.
Check other reviews, people are being taken advantage of when auto renew is selected. No offer of discount for new plan, just straight up full blown retail charge to your card with the response that they will "Review" if and how much of a refund, it could take 20 days.
