Casting Net: Eva Longoria boards Blumhouse thriller

• Eva Longoria has signed on to star in the Blumhouse horror pic Visions, alongside Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Gillian Jacobs (Community), and Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels). Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) is also in talks to join the movie about a pregnant woman (Fisher) who’s haunted by visions of a “sinister hooded figure.” Kevin Greutert (Saw VI) is set to direct. Longoria, who plays Fisher’s character’s best friend in the film, recently wrapped the drama Frontera with Michael Pena and Ed Harris and is currently filming Demian Bichir’s Refugio. [Deadline]

• Richard Dreyfuss will join Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) in the political sex scandal drama Zipper. Dreyfuss will play a political operator, while Wilson gets to be the sleazy politician in director Mora Stephens’ movie. [THR]

• Sanaa Lathan (The Best Man Holiday) has joined the indie Ad Inexplorata from writer-director Mark Elijah Rosenberg. The story, developed at the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, tells the story of Captain William D. Stanaforth (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’s Mark Strong) — a NASA pilot alone in a one-way mission to Mars. • Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) will co-star in The Best of Me, an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks‘ novel starring James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan. [Deadline]
