Stevie Nicks dedicates Landslide to Dave Grohl

Stevie Nicks famously dedicates Fleetwood Mac’s hit ballad “Landslide” to somebody special every time the band plays the track on tour, and at Sunday night’s Isle of Wight Festival, she gave Dave Grohl the honor. While introducing the song she reportedly praised Grohl for completing a recent show after suffering an injury to his leg during a June 12 performance in Sweden. (Foo Fighters would later cancel two shows because of Grohl’s leg fracture.)

She was just one one of the artists who commended Grohl for his ability to continue the show. Rob Thomas, Ed Sheeran, Ryan Good, and many other musicians wrote to him on Twitter, calling him a “hero” and a “legend.”

Nicks and Grohl have worked together for years, and recently she performed with his side project, The Sound City Players, on The Late Show With David Letterman. They’ve even played “Landslide” together before, including at 2013’s SXSW festival. Nicks also credits Grohl for helping her finish the 2013 documentary In Your Dreams.

“I said to Dave, ‘I’m heartsick because my record is dead,'” she said in an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock. “‘I’m so disillusioned with the music business.'” He then pushed her to get it out into the world.
