John Stamos talks Olsen twins on Fuller House: 'They're in a different phase in their life'

'They haven't acted in a long time,' Stamos said on Thursday's 'Watch What Happens Live'

No, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are not avoiding the Fuller House reboot because they hate John Stamos.

At least, that’s what Stamos told a caller on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live. “There was a lot of stuff in the press that wasn’t true about that,” he said. “I called them up and asked them to do it, [but] they’re in a different phase in their life. They haven’t acted in a long time.”

And despite rumors to the contrary, “everything is super sweet with us,” said Stamos, before acknowledging that he did try to get the twins fired when they were kids — a plot point in Lifetime’s Unauthorized Full House Story that turned out to be true at Stamos’ own admission during this summer’s TCA press tour.

“They were crying too much!” interjected host Andy Cohen. “They were,” Stamos agreed, “but I’m glad they did the show.”
