Cate Blanchett might just steal Chris Hemsworth’s thunder. The Oscar-winning actress is in talks to join Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel’s third movie about the Norse-inspired superhero.

Variety first reported the news.

Blanchett’s potential character has yet to be revealed and plot details for Ragnarok are scarce, though Mark Ruffalo and Tom Hiddleston are expected to costar as the irradiated bruiser the Hulk and Thor’s scheming sibling Loki.

Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) is on board to direct, and Stephany Folsom was recently hired to write a new draft of the script.

Blanchett’s recent films include Disney’s live-action Cinderella, the Rathergate drama Truth, and the lesbian romance Carol, the latter of which is receiving awards-season attention. The Australian actress also has fantasy experience, having starred in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to hit theaters July 28, 2017.
