Azealia Banks shares The Big Big Beat video

Azealia Banks has had more than one brush with the law throughout her career. In her new video for “The Big Big Beat,” released Thursday, the outspoken singer casts her legal woes aside for a dance-centric jaunt across New York City.

Backed by the song’s slinky, club-cut electro beat, Banks stomps on a cop car, swirls her hips in front of a Manhattan courthouse, and sashays through the halls of an institutional-like building.

Her rebellious kiss-off is likely a wink to her recent run with the police. Late last year, she was implicated in two separate alleged attacks against club security guards, one in Los Angeles and one in New York. The LAPD has since dropped their assault charges against Banks, but she’s currently facing misdemeanor charges for assault and attempted assault, as well as disorderly conduct and harassment violations, for the New York incident.

Earlier this month, Alaska’s former governor Sarah Palin threatened to sue the rapper after Banks went off on her during a profanity-laced Twitter rant. Banks later apologized in a lengthy open letter.
