Notorious: Piper Perabo, Daniel Sunjata spill personal details

Inspired by the dealings between Larry King Live producer Wendy Walker and lawyer Mark Geragos, Notorious follows television force Julia George (Piper Perabo). The commanding cable news producer swaps favorable primetime coverage for scoop on clients represented by criminal defense attorney Jake Gregorian (Daniel Sunjata), creating quite a cozy relationship between the two. But how well do the newly minted costars know each other? We put them to the test.

EW: Daniel, what was the name of Piper’s character in Coyote Ugly?

DANIEL SUNJATA: Oh my God. I don’t remember her character’s name. I just remember the dancing.

PIPER PERABO: I’m not offended. In fact, if he was like, “Violet Sanford,” I’d be like, “Wait a minute, dude, when was the last time you watched it?”

Piper, true or false: Daniel once had a part on an iconic HBO show that required him to wear a naval uniform.

PP: I would say true.

Do you know the name of the show?

PP: Band of Brothers?

It was Sex and the City.

PP: Oh wait, what episode? I’m totally putting that on my DVR!

DS: Oh no, here we go.

Which one of you watches more TV?

DS: Piper absolutely watches more TV than I do.

PP: But there’s one show that we both watch. Do you remember, Daniel?

DS: Pardon the Interruption [on ESPN]. To tell you the truth, Piper, I was shocked that that was the show we had in common!

Who’s most likely to indulge in dessert?

PP: Daniel. I’ve noticed that if something really amazing goes by, Daniel will try it.

DS: I have no will power when it comes to sweets. I have a sweet tooth. We have a designated candy trough [on set]. I’ll often stop by there and dig out Reese’s or Starbursts.

Who’s the better driver?

DS: I have no clue. I’ve never seen you drive, Piper.

PP: I don’t want to brag, but I’m a pretty good driver. Five seasons of Covert Affairs, man, you get some driving under your belt.

When the other is in their trailer, what are they usually doing?

PP: Daniel’s usually blasting music. When we were doing the pilot, we were side by side and I got to know his sexy R&B record collection.

DS: We’re no longer trailermates, and that’s probably why! I would bet Piper’s usually drilling lines, doing work on her script, or drawing up plans to rule the world.

Whose on-set wardrobe is more expensive?

DS: Piper, hands down.

PP: Are you kidding me? Your clothes are so magnificent. His shoes are, especially. You ain’t seen men’s shoes until you’ve seen Daniel Sunjata’s shoes!
