Voltron: Legendary Defender announces Season 2 release date

Voltron: Legendary Defenders fans will have to wait just a little while longer for Netflix to release season 2. But at least the DreamWorks animated series now has a release date: Jan. 20, 2017.

That doesn’t mean the wait for new episodes will be particularly easy, however. The recently released trailer for the show’s upcoming second season revealed the series will pick up where it left off, with Voltron’s different members scattered across the universe. Adding tension is the fact that Shiro requests Keith take over as leader, before later walking into a white light while Keith calls out to him.

EW also has a photo from the upcoming season that will be shown at New York Comic Con happening right now. The image, above, features Lance with Hunk’s lion, and it seems like the pair might have found themselves in a tricky situation.

Season 2 of Voltron: Legendary Defenders will be available on Jan. 20, 2017 on Netflix.
