Pharrell releases 'Crave' from 'Hidden Figures' soundtrack

Pharrell Williams is helming the soundtrack for Oscar contender Hidden Figures, and on Tuesday night the hitmaker released a new song from the film, “Crave.”

The funky, up-tempo track features a full brass band, a stunning backing chorus, and hand claps. “Crave” is just one of Pharrell’s eight songs on the Hidden Figures soundtrack, and he’s already released “I See Victory,” “Runnin‘,” and “Surrender.”

Hidden Figures stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe as three women who were instrumental in helping NASA launch astronaut John Glenn into orbit. The film already has notable Oscar buzz, and Henson’s name has already been tossed around in the best actress conversation.

“I want all the young girls regardless to what color you are, I want you to see this film and recognize that not only can you do it, but it’s actually already been done,” Pharrell said when describing the soundtrack during a Q&A in September.

Hidden Figures is out Dec. 25.
