The “big one” is finally hitting Los Angeles — on The Rookie anyway.

Next Tuesday’s episode details John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and his fellow cops dealing with a massive earthquake, a legitimate concern for Los Angeles and the LAPD. In this exclusive clip, we see a glimpse of guest star Joel McHale before an earthquake rips through a safe-house, the precinct, and more.

McHale guest stars as Brad Hayes, a man whose dealings have put a target on his head. The episode finds Nolan serving as Hayes’ protective detail — a post Agent Russo (guest star Sarah Shahi) recommended him for. The clip sees the earthquake wrecking havoc on Nolan and Hayes, as well as his fellow officers back at the precinct, including agent Russo.

Sergeant Grey (Richard T. Jones) takes a particularly brutal blow to the head from a falling ceiling vent, and the rest of the fallout remains to be seen.

The Rookie follows Officer Nolan, the oldest rookie cop in the history of the LAPD who decides to hit the restart button on his life after a divorce. The series is nearing the tail-end of its first season. ABC still has not announced whether the series will be picked up for a second season.

Watch the clip above for more. The Rookie airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
