Trump tells George Clooney 'go back to TV' after telling Joe to quit

Donald Trump tore into George Clooney by claiming the two-time Oscar winner 'never came close to making a great movie' after the actor demanded Joe Biden quit the race for the White House. The Republican candidate lashed out at the lifelong Democrat in a series of posts on his Truth Social media page.

It came after Clooney wrote a damning op-ed in the New York Times claiming the president had 'saved democracy' by defeating Trump in 2020 but would have to step aside this time to repeat the feat. 'Crooked Joe Biden didn't save our Democracy ,' Trump fumed. 'He brought our Democracy to its knees. 'Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!'

The actor's dramatic intervention came just three weeks after he co-hosted a record-breaking $28 million fundraiser for the president. But his relationship with the president became strained last month after Biden attacked an attempt by Clooney's lawyer wife to jail the Prime Minister of Israel.

Amal Clooney (pictured right) signed off a bid by the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in May to seek the arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu alongside Hamas leaders for war crimes – a move the President denounced as 'outrageous'. The actor called the White House to protest after Biden insisted there was 'no moral equivalence' between Israel and Hamas and hinted at sanctions against the court which could have seen Clooney's wife deported from the US.

On Wednesday the actor leant his voice to the growing chorus of Democrats calling for the president to stand aside in response to his shambolic performance in the first presidential against Donald Trump. 'I love Joe Biden,' he wrote. 'But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. 'It's devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe "big F-ing deal" Biden of 2010. 'He wasn't even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.'

Trump seems to have become alarmed at the prospect that Biden might drop out, also taking aim last night at Nancy Pelosi after the former House Speaker voiced only lukewarm support for the president's ambitions. 'Crazy Nancy Pelosi is a cognitive mess,' he wrote. 'She has now turned against Crooked Joe.'

But it was Clooney who attracted the wrath of the former Apprentice reality TV host. 'So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act,' he wrote.

'He's turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. 'What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat "talking point" that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has "saved our Democracy."

'No, Crooked Joe was the one who WEAPONIZED Law Enforcement against his political Opponent, who created the most devastating INFLATION in the history of our Country. 'Who Embarrassed our Nation in Afghanistan, and whose crazy Open Border Policy has allowed millions of people to illegally pour into our Country, many from prisons and mental institutions.

'Crooked Joe Biden didn't save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees. 'Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!'
