American man, 31, vanishes in Spain after traveling to Barcelona to attend Pride festival

An American man vacationing in Spain has been missing for the last two weeks, prompting his family to turn to social media for help in locating him.

Ryan Anthony, 31, was on a trip with his friends in Barcelona before they traveled south down the Spanish coast to attend an LGBTQ pride festival in the town of Sitges.

Kayli Anthony Willis, Anthony's sister, said in a Facebook post that this was the last time she heard from him.

'The last message he sent me he was in Sitges for Pride festival with some friends. It is not like him to not check in with any of his family, and all our calls and texts are not delivering,' Willis wrote on the Sitges Social Network Group.

She described her brother as 6 feet tall and 185 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He also has a large black and red bird tattoo on his left arm.

Willis also attached two photos of him, one of which showed him with four other men. It's believed he went to the festival with at least some of these individuals.

Willis said she messaged two of the men in the picture, neither of whom replied.

She added that one of the men posted on social media in the last week, The Independent reported.

'We have filed a report with the US embassy in Barcelona and also here in the United States,' she wrote.

She said he is 'the nicest person,' while also pleading with people who may have seen him to reach out to her via Facebook.

'If anyone has come in contact recently or knows where he is, PLEASE message me or notify the US embassy,' Willis wrote. 'We would like to know he’s safe and alive. Thank you.'

The post garnered a lot of attention and comments, where Willis answered various people's questions and provided an update on the still unfolding situation.

Based on the advice she was given by locals in the Facebook group, Willis contacted Catalonia's police force and local police to file a missing person's report.

She spoke to the police Sunday, who haven't been able to generate any leads on Anthony's whereabouts.

His credit cards also appeared to have gone unused, according to what police told her.

Willis reached out to several bars as well as multiple hospitals and clinics, but for now, none of those efforts have gotten her any closer to finding her brother.

'Please keep sharing and keep him in your thoughts,' she concluded.

DailyMail.com approached Willis for comment.
