A female prison officer allegedly filmed having sex with an inmate in a Wandsworth jail cell has broken her silence and insisted that people do not know her side of the story while the whole incident has left her 'heart broken.'

Linda De Sousa Abreu revealed in a video on social media that attempts had also been made by others to financially benefit from her 'misfortune' and accused the media of 'sensationalising' the shocking alleged video which went viral.

She said: 'I hope that you can appreciate that this is going to be an awkward and uncomfortable conversation to have. I just thought I really needed to come on here and clarify a lot of things.

'First thing being there has been a lot, and I mean a lot, of tremendous amount of fake profiles of me that have been monetising off of my misfortune.

'The scandal that the entire world has somehow managed to be involved in. I have not managed monetised one f***ing bit at all. This is my only social media platform and I only just activated it.'

Linda De Sousa Abreu broke her social media silence for the first time since appearing in court over the alleged incident

She added: 'So if you do come across fake profiles of me, asking for money, please don't fall for it there's been a lot of fake GoFundMes and OnlyFans accounts of me that are not me and I do apologise if you have fallen for it.

'Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I apologise.

'But I really want to clarify that this is my only social media account, and I just came back on.

'I thought it was very important for me to address this very distasteful subject of OnlyFans creators pretending to be me and recreating the scenario of said scandal which I am involved in.'

Sounding emotional and angry, Ms De Sousa Abreu added in the video posted on Instagram: 'Very, very distasteful for you to advertise or monetise yourselves as me for OF content.

'It does interfere with my trial but furthermore it is incredibly distasteful.

'Please if you are an OF creator refrain from tagging said prison. We all know the name of the prison.

'Please refrain from tagging HMP Wandsworth in your stupid videos. There are other prisons in the world, you don't have to pretend to be me.'

Staring intensely at the camera, she insisted: 'Lastly, I wanted to tell you all that you do not know my side of the story.

'The media has a great way of getting a narrative and twisting it for its own benefit.

'The media love any story to be salacious and sensational and they sensationalise everything.

'You don't know my side of the story and we will leave it as that for now.'

As Ms De Sousa Abreu appeared to be finishing her statement, she then decided to continue and slammed people she thought were friends who 'had her back.'

She fumed: 'Actually, whilst I'm here, this also needs to be addressed. You don't know who has you, who your real friends are until s**t hits the fan.

'Honest to God, family, friends, you need to pick them very carefully, very carefully.

'Obviously everybody knows my mobile phone number was leaked, there has been people going behind my back.

'The media have been literally following me everywhere, I can't even go into Greggs or Primark without getting papped, it's very annoying.'

She cried: 'A lot of the time it's people who you thought had your back and they just don't.

'That's been really heart breaking. On top of all of this, on top of everything, that's been really heart breaking too.

'So, that's just advice for everybody to pick very carefully who you have around you.'

Ms De Sousa Abreu has been charged with misconduct and appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates Court earlier this month.

The shocking clip sees the 30-year-old wearing uniform and begins with her apparently performing a sex act on an unidentified prisoner at the Category B jail in south-west London.

The footage, which MailOnline understands to be recent, then appears to show her having sex with the prisoner while his cellmate films on a mobile phone. Footage of the cell shows a TV and piles of clothes heaped over a bunk bed.

A friend who is smoking while recording says: 'Guys we've made history, this is what I'm telling you.'

The prison officer's radio, left on a side table, crackles constantly with her colleagues heard on the other channels above the din of prisoners on the landing unaware of what is going on in the cell.

At one point, someone appears to try to come into the cell, at which the man filming, can be heard saying to the person on the other side of the door 'give me a minute, one second.'

The prisoner filming tells his friend to carry on and then pans the camera round momentarily and, grinning, says: 'This is how we roll in Wandsworth.'

He then tells his friend having sex: 'You know you're gangster innit!'

After the video went viral, MailOnline revealed that the woman in the video was Ms De Sousa Abreu who is understood to have recently quit her job as a prison officer in the South London jail following the scandal.
