When Anthony Joshua takes to the ring on August 12 against Dillian Whyte there will be more than just pride on the line.
If AJ loses the all-British clash against his fierce rival then Eddie Hearn has revealed that the Deontay Wilder fight at the back end of the year will be taken off of the table by the Saudis.
In an interview with talkSPORT shortly after the announcement of Joshua's upcoming fight, the Matchroom Boxing chief was pressed on whether his client will still face Wilder if he loses next month.
To which, he replied: 'No. I don't know how the Whyte fight goes, but we've been told categorically that the deal on the table is not the deal if he loses to Dillian Whyte.
'They didn't want him to fight Dillian Whyte. It was almost like, "Please, don't fight Dillian Whyte. You don't need to. We've got this fight in December." But AJ was like, "No. I want to fight".

Wilder and Joshua have an agreement in principle for a fight in December over in Saudi Arabia
'If he wins on August 12, he'll go into the Deontay Wilder fight with loads of momentum and again it's just adding to that incredible CV.
'I think he should be praised for the fact he wants to give you a real fight instead of just a tick-over fight until he fights Deontay Wilder – this is very dangerous.'
Skills Challenge Promotions are hoping to stage Joshua vs Wilder in December and an agreement in principle has been reached between both parties.
Whyte is hoping to hijack those plans and finally get himself a fight with the 'Bronze Bomber' after spending nearly three years as his WBC mandatory.
And with no rematch clause written into his contract for the Joshua bout, Whyte could legitimately push for the Saudi showdown if he wins.
Matchroom had initially added a one-sided rematch clause for Joshua into their first draft but the 'Bodysnatcher' refused to put pen to paper unless it was removed and so it was taken out on the Watford powerhouse's request.
If Joshua does end up losing then he will miss out on a monster £60million payday, which Hearn claims is the total purse they have been offered to face Wilder.
