  • Johnny Fisher produced a stunning knockout in his bout against Alen Babic
  • The 25-year-old needed just 36 seconds to dismantle his heavyweight opponent
  • Afterwards, promoter Eddie Hearn talked up Fisher's prospects in the division

Johnny Fisher produced a stunning knockout against Alen Babic after just 36 seconds at the Copper Box Arena.

Fisher, 25, proved his credentials as a heavyweight contender by dismantling his counter-part in just 36 seconds on Saturday night.

The bout was over in a flash as Fisher came storming out the gates and unleashed a flurry of punches that rocked his opponent and, eventually, sent him to the canvas.

In a video that appeared on X, Fisher marched forward and threw left-hook after right-hook before one eventually caught Babic clean on the chin.

Afterwards, Fisher painted a jubilant figure and was talked up as a serious prospect in the domestic heavyweight division.

Speaking about the bout, Fisher said: 'One of the most special nights of my career and life tonight, prepared like I never have before.

'This just shows what level I can get to, I'll keep going and dealt with it [training camp] better than I have before.

'I've sparred Filip Hrgovic and really matured over the last six months, I can go as far as I want.'

Meanwhile, promoter Hearn said Fisher can now target the British heavyweight title.

Hearn explained: 'This ain't a gimmick, you're looking at a world-class heavyweight prospect and talking about a guy with two amateur fights!

'I'd back him against anyone at British title level and after Frazer Clarke vs. Fabio Wardley, I called him to say he'd beat them both. Get excited, because he's the real deal.'

Fisher sat down with Mail Sport prior to the fight to assess the match-up and later explained how he's in no rush to join the rest of the heavyweights in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has hosted the majority of boxing's biggest events in recent months, particularly in the heavyweight division, and Fisher could soon get the invitation to head over to the Middle East.

But 'The Romford Bull' insisted he is one of the few fighters in no rush to join the likes of Joshua, Fury and Usyk in Saudi Arabia, and is focused on continuing to build his fanbase closer to home instead.

'I think the Romford Army would have a lot more fun in England, in Vegas, in these sort of places,' he said.

'I'd love to stay here but we're all professional boxers, we've all got to earn our money, we've all got to make a living. It's very hard for a professional sportsman in boxing to earn money so if you get an opportunity over there and it's a big fight you can't say no.

'But for me now, I'm very grateful for the living I can earn here in England, places in Europe and I'd love to fight in Australia at one point because we've got a big fanbase over there. Saudi Arabia isn't the pull for me right now, but who knows in the future.'
