  •  Aussie fans have slammed him on social media
  •  Found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2022

Angry Australian sports fans have blasted convicted woman beater Curtis Scott after the disgraced former league star knocked out former AFL legend Barry Hall on Wednesday night.

Hall, 47, proved no match for 26-year-old Scott, who floored the former Swans star with a wicked left hook in the opening stages of the bout.

The brave footy veteran fought on but was conclusively beaten with 90 seconds remaining of the first round as the referee waved the contest off.

'The minute he got hit he just fell apart,' Barry Michael said. 'He wasn't right… he had no legs at all.'

'I swear to god it was the exact first shot that Sonny Bill Williams threw,' Alexander Volkanovski said.

The victory makes Scott 3-0 as a professional fighter, with commentator Ben Damon calling him a 'force to be reckoned with', but not everybody is happy to see Scott in the ring.

In 2022, he was sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order after being found guilty of three charges against his ex-girlfriend, athlete Tay-Leiha Clark, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and stalk or intimidate with the intention of causing fear or physical harm.

The bout on Wednesday night left some fans asking why Scott was given an opportunity in the first place.

'Why you continue to promote a lowlife like Curtis Scott I’ll never know. Read the room guys,' posted one fan on X.

'So ...... Curtis Scott learnt how to hit someone who ISN'T a female?' posted another.

'How the f**k can you promote Curtis Scott to represent the NRL,' replied a third.

Just a selection of @FOXNRL’s golden boy Curtis Scott. Deserves nothing less than prison cell,' posted another alongside headlines relating to the assault of Scott's ex.

'Seeing falling over themselves to support Curtis Scott is like German radio verbally fellating an Austrian Corporal’s bid for German presidency,' another tweet read.

In December last year, retired footy player Trent Merrin attempted to defend Scott on social media - and Scott's ex fired back a reply.

'After four years, never once has there been any personal accountability taken. This is not an opportunity for redemption, it's ignorance,' she posted in response.

'It might be beneficial for Trent to consider this before publicly advocating for a man who has never even shown remorse towards his victim.'

Scott won a NRL premiership with Melbourne Storm in 2017 and was viewed as a potential State of Origin player for NSW, but his career was ruined by a string of off-field dramas.

Earlier in the year, Ms Clark called out Fox League for 'endorsing' Scott, who she labelled a 'dangerous man'.

Scott was sacked by the Canberra Raiders before the assault charge - for a separate incident surrounding a nightclub altercation - although he was later cleared of any charges.

Scott was also in a legal battle with NSW Police over what he claims was an 'unlawful' arrest in Sydney in January of 2020.
